I received an email a few days ago. It's a guide for the New Year, and instead of New Year resolutions, it's a guide to making New Year promises. What's the difference between resolutions and promises? I honestly have no idea. Resolutions and promises are pretty similar, aren't they? Both finding a solution to a problem. Both requiring commitment. Anyway, here's the list:
I think it's a pretty good list to start with. In such simple words, it describes what a human being needs in the courses of their day. These promises sound easy. Well, they are made to sound easy. But they're not easy at all. It depends on what one's personality and weaknesses are. For example, one may find it very easy to focus on positive things but not smiling at random people at all times.
I, however, find it very easy to smile at random people. However, I've discovered that my greatest weakness is being strong. Whenever I have a distraction or something negative in mind, it is all I can think about. These negative thoughts make me weak, and leave me confidentless. I was once strong, like everybody else. But certain things made me weak, so I'm going to fix that in 2009.
As of today, I promise to be so strong that nothing can disturb my peace of mind.
