Birthday Arguments
Thursday, March 26

I've had many projects to do, so haven't had time to blog. I finally got a break today. Days have gone so quick, I didn't even know until two weeks ago that it's my birthday tomorrow. I knew that it's on the 27th March, but it just never occured to me that it was actually coming up soon.

I've been trying to convince my friends not to get me any presents. But so far, no such luck. I mean, I love them for having the thought of getting me a present, but they really don't have to go to all that trouble just to get me a present. But no, not a word I say seem to get into those heads of theirs!

Our conversation would normally sound like this:
Friend: Btw, what do you want for your birthday?
Me: Nah, you seriously don't need to get me a present.
Friend: But, you always get us presents. I have to get you a present.
Me: Sweetie, I know you love me to bits, and I do too. But you really don't need to. I won't get all mad at you if you don't.
Friend: No can do. Gonna get you a present whether you like it or not.

And it goes on and on and on. I always lose the argument when they remind me of the presents I get them. The thing is, it's different. If I see something nice at the shopping mall, like, let's say, a tank top that I know would look really hot on a friend, I get it. If I see a necklace that would totally suit that black dress that let's say, Laurina got recently, I'd get it for her. It's different, cos I don't actually spend a whole hour looking for a present.

I'm fighting a losing battle, aren't I?
