harry potter vs. twilight debate :)

Had a long chat with Aunt Alice today, chatted about all kinds of things from Twilight to Harry Potter. I still don't get why people would compare the two series, as they are entirely different from each other. They are both awesome in their own ways. I wasn't actually much of a Harry Potter fan. I mean, have you seen how thick those books are? As the series moved from book to book, the books just got thicker and thicker.

And yes, nowadays, I read books that are about twice the size of a dictionary, but that is not the point. The book came out when I was two. And even when I was seven, I was still one of those kids buried in an Enid Blyton book. Ha, good times. But when I started reading Harry Potter books, which was not too long ago, I kinda liked it. Sure, I didn't get half of it (as I started reading from the last book to the first), but it was still good. It had that kind of magic that just wovens around you, and won't let go until you're down to the very last word.

And now, moving onto Twilight. I'm sure all the teenagers out there have pretty much said what I'm about to say. So I'm not going to bore you with my endless speech about how great it is. I will admit that it's not as great as Harry Potter in a sense that Stephenie Meyer didn't create a whole new world like JK Rowling did. However, I will stand by my word and say that it is great in a way that it relates to teenagers, minus the vampires. I was immersed with how Stephenie wrote. In some ways, it reminded me of myself, and the people around me.

Harry Potter and Twilight - both great, but one shouldn't compare the two.
